Pembrey and Burry Port Photographic Society
http://www.pembrey-burryport-ps.co.uk/
Pembrey Photographic Society is now in its 25th year. Before there was a club it was originally a class in Pembrey Memorial Hall with 12 people attending to learn more about photography and how to use their own equipment, but when the classes came to an end due to low attendance figures we wanted to continue so the club was born. The club Started in November of 1988. Soon after the club formed we joined the Welsh Photographic Federation, and this then made us able to compete against other clubs in the local area and join them and swap ideas and tips in the 'Battles'. In 1994 the local council asked us if we would like to rent a room in Copperworks School that was being used by other local groups. Up until then if we wanted to take indoor photographs then we only had at the most 2 ½ hours to set-up, take the pictures and then take down our equipment, as we were still using the local community hall.
